Adding videos into your websites?
Five years ago, when I was constructing and designing a couple of websites for the business departments of our company, I had tried to insert their short video ads into their websites, although the videos had to be run in RealPlayer and Media Player which should be preinstalled at that time, and some customers complained about no sounds, only black and white colors, pretty low speed and so forth, I thought it was a good try, considering to its inner value for the marketing promotion and attracting new technological features, it is worthy to take risks.
Nowadays, It is pretty common to add video contents into the websites, with the rapid development of computer network technology, the conditions of Internet bandwidth and software have been largely improved, people can even watch live sports and films at home via internet. As to the websites, even those with less needs for video chips, no one can easily reject video function which is definitely a necessary supplement to the mere static images and text especially when they are designed for the purpose of business promotion. For a business website, video ads can be put on the web to broaden the viewers of the products and services and show the companies’ strong promotion ability; as to advocate website, the recording of some pubic activities could be displayed on the webpage to visually show to the people what the organization is doing and what they have done for the society.
Some professional video sharing websites like www.youtube.com , www.flickr.com and social networking websites like www.myspace.com, www.spacebook.com can provide video uploading and broadcasting service, and online video has already become the backbone function of a great number of large groups and organizations, for example, the official NBA website, www.nba.com/video/index.html which is one of my favorite site, it is not only displaying enormous quantity of NBA sports news and relevant images based on search engine, and it can also broadcast live basketball matches to its fans, if you can’t watch live match or you want to look at the other matches afterwards, there are also short extracted highlights—game recap of every NBA basketball match provided for you to review., is it cool? Yeah,you can watch any matches an anytime and it is just a matter of mouse click, to some extent, it is more convenient and efficient than TV.
To sum up, when you are planning to build and develop website, video function should definitely be one of your consideration, it is not only the place to display your ads, and it can also visually attract your audience to great extent.
